Yellowstone County Safe Routes To School
Yellowstone County Safe Routes To School
Who We Are : SRTS is a local committee that works to make it safe, convenient and fun for children to walk and bike to school. This committee is a partnership between Billings City Planning, MET Transit, RiverStone Health, United Way, parents and community members alike.
Our Goal : Get more children walking and bicycling to school, improve kids’ safety, and increase their overall health and physical activity.
What We Believe : By starting with children and the trip to school, communities become safe places for everyone to walk and bike. By creating safe places for everyone, communities take a major step towards meeting the national and local goal of ending traffic deaths on roads.
Congratulations!
Broadwater, Bench and Bitterroot Elementaries for implementing Walking School Buses this school year. We are so excited for your students and school families!
Coming soon
to all Elementary Schools in Yellowstone County!
A Tiered Achievement Program for all Yellowstone County schools, the SRTS tiered level program recognizes individual school efforts to improve and promote safe walking, and bicycling. The program is also a road map for school to plot out steps to move their school forward and can annually assess what they have achieved.
